We have an exciting opportunity to join the IT team as a Project Manager! As a Project Manager, you will be required to lead the project team who have the sole responsibility in defining the scope, plan, schedule, resource allocation, and risk management of the project(s). You will also be required to develop a detailed project plan as a roadmap, detailing the timelines, identify the resources needed and manage the risks/issues along with dependencies. The role will also require liaising with various other Business Units across Centrica Energy in meeting up with project/program timelines.

About this Role

You will work closely with the development teams to deliver high quality products for the business. As a key member of the Delivery team you will:

  • Inspire, lead and supervise the project teams in meeting up with program objectives.

  • Develop a detailed project plan as a roadmap, detailing the timelines and resources needed.

  • Provide ongoing project support in ensuring that:

    • Projects are having the right level of governance

    • On time reporting of program status on operational, risks and financial parameters  

    • Ensure project meets the requirements on technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost

  • Work with senior stakeholders across CE to ensure the program updates are done as planned

  • Use project management expertise and knowledge to determine the overall program impact (if any) and bring it to stakeholders attention

About You

To be successful in this role we imagine you have a technical background and a solid understanding of infrastructure. Furthermore, we imagine our ideal candidate:

  • Has previously operated in a senior management capacity and demonstrates significant evidence of managing project(s) that are cross functional and cross technology

  • Demonstrates significant management and leadership capabilities

  • Demonstrates an expert understanding of agile, scrum and is able to apply into day-to-day role and challenge the design or program decisions to ensure the right solution is adopted

  • Demonstrates the ability to manage senior stakeholders and good collaboration with peers, team members and other internal stakeholders

  • Quickly identifies requirements and/or resources needed for relevant tasks and re-focuses them effectively when circumstances change

  • Facilitates team members’ own development of their knowledge, skills, and capabilities

An understanding of the energy sector will be an advantage.
