Centrica has been named as Britain's Most Admired Utilities Company for the second year running. Centrica also fought off strong competition to be placed at an impressive thirteenth out of Britain's top 200 most admired companies.
‘Britain's Most Admired Companies' corporate reputation awards, now in their eighteenth year, are uniquely decided through peer review. Companies are judged against a range of criteria from financial soundness and the value of investment to community and environmental responsibility, innovation and attraction and development of top talent.
The awards are based on an independent survey conducted by Birmingham City Business School of over 200 UK Board level representatives, analysts and city commentators.
Centrica's strategy focuses on leading the move to a secure, low carbon future. This depends on us continually investing in innovative technologies and services along with attracting and retaining the right people. Building our reputation as a leading company in the UK is central and this award, along with our overall ranking, shows that it is working.
Anne Minto, HR Director, Centrica, said:
"I am delighted that we have won this award, which recognises the progress that we are making to grow our business in a socially and environmentally responsible way. Attracting new talent is crucial to securing a low carbon future so I hope this encourages innovative and inspirational people to consider joining Centrica in the future".
