Bord Gáis Energy has served customers since 1976 and now provides gas, electricity and home care services to over 514,000 homes and businesses across Ireland. We’re focused on meeting evolving customer needs and supporting Ireland’s transition to a lower‑carbon future.

In January 2025, we secured a 10‑year capacity contract for a new 334MW OCGT power station in Galway, capable of running on biomethane or hydrogen blends. We also won a 5‑year contract for the 445MW Whitegate power station in Cork, which can power up to 400,000 homes, reinforcing our role in Ireland’s energy security and decarbonisation.
