Bord Gáis Energy has been operating since 1976 and today provides gas, electricity, and home care services to over 514,000 residential and business customers across Ireland.

As an energy services and supply company we’re committed to satisfying the changing needs of our customers and helping them transition to a lower carbon future.

Through our state-of-the art 445MW energy efficient, power generation plant at Whitegate, Co. Cork we power up to 400,000 homes, putting us at the heart of energy security and decarbonisation in Ireland.

In November 2024, Bord Gáis Energy announced the acquisition of Swyft Energy, with the acquisition completing in January 2025. Swyft Energy is a leading solar PV installer in Ireland and the acquisition represents an important step in our transition to a green energy business.

Our engineers also visit homes and businesses every day to help look after our customers, servicing boilers, installing the latest smart products and helping them decarbonise their lives.
