My journey to the Centrica graduate programme: Customer Ops
My Career with Centrica began in 2013 when I undertook a 10-week summer internship, working for British Gas Business as a ‘Customer Experience Improvement Analyst’. Graduating from De Montfort University with a degree in Business and Management, I decided to take a gap year to explore my potential opportunities and, although I knew my passion lay in management, I lacked a sense of direction as to which area of business I would want to join.
The summer placement answered any questions I had in regard to my career prospects and I was sure ‘Customer Operations’ was the right stream for me. The knowledge and skills I had learnt during the 10-weeks and the experience I had gained were second to none in value. When I was offered a position on the Customer Operations Graduate Scheme 2014, I had no doubts in my mind that this was the career route I wanted to take.
Outside of Centrica I love travelling. I have a checklist of holiday destinations I aim to tick off within a certain time period. Yes, they are realistic! Aside from this I love to read. During university, my novel reading habit suffered, however, I am hoping now, I will have a little more time on my hands to get stuck back into some good books.
