Today, we’re delighted to congratulate Joanne Ross, Sherena Masharani and Joanne Rose who have all been featured in the HERoes Women Role Model Lists 2021.
The lists celebrate executives, futures leaders and advocates who are driving the charge for inclusion in business – and it’s a proud moment for Centrica to see three of our colleagues celebrated for their work in this space.
We’d like to introduce you to Joanne, Sherena and Joanne, and share some of the amazing work they’ve been doing, which led to their nominations.
Joanne Ross, Director of Strategy, Corporate Brand and Reputation
HERoes Women Executives Role Model List 2021
Having always admired the great work done by the Centrica’s Women’s Network, Joanne was delighted when she was asked to become the group’s Executive Sponsor earlier this year. Since then she has taken part in a panel event for International Women's Day as well as participating in the CWN ‘Empower’ series, where she spoke about her own personal career and life journey. Joanne has mentored three women in Centrica over the past three years and has also been a mentee as part of a reverse mentoring programme, from which she learned a lot about the challenges some women face which can hinder their development and career progression.
Sherena Masharani, Business Leadership Graduate
HERoes Women Future Leaders Role Model List 2021
Sherena is the Head of Communications and Engagement for our VOICE Network – and author of the 'Amplify' newsletter, which promotes a message of inclusion, shares best practice, and encourages readers to engage with the conversation.
Sherena helped co-ordinate the first Diversity and Inclusion event for our Legal team. This event facilitated discussion on how the future of the legal industry could be more inclusive, especially for women. This event, featured within industry magazines, committed 14 leading law-firms to initiatives providing more inclusive workplaces for employees.
Joanne Rose, Head of Salesforce Platform
HERoes Women Future Leaders Role Model List 2021
After being an active member of the Centrica Women's Network since 2018, Joanne became Co-Chair from September 2020. One of her focuses is on ensuring an intersectional lens is applied to everything the network does.
Joanne was also responsible for introducing the Google #IAmRemarkable program in 2020, for which she facilitated workshops for over 180 people, as well as co-drafting and championing the 2021 D&I objectives with key targets cascaded as measures throughout DTS.
